Hello!! I’m Elizabeth Zhang, and I have the honor of serving as your LCLCA Secretary this year. I’m originally from Tallahassee, Florida, and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2015. I’m also a proud alumna of Louisiana State University (Class of 2022). Geaux Tigers!
During my sophomore year at LSU, I became a Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader with the LSU Center for Academic Success—a program I had leaned on heavily during my own transition from high school to college. I was thrilled to have the chance to engage with peers and develop skills to mentor and guide students facing many of the same challenges I experienced during my first year. My three years in the SI program deepened my passion for understanding how students learn and the many ways they can engage with the learning process.
Now, as a Program Manager for the Center for Academic Success, I get to continue pursuing the interests I first discovered as an undergraduate while growing alongside a program that has given me so much. I have the opportunity to support and uplift our student SI Leaders and Peer Tutors daily.
I’m so excited to be part of this amazing organization and to build meaningful connections with learning center professionals across Louisiana. Learning from one another and sharing ideas not only strengthens the work we do every day, but also enriches the experiences of the students we serve. I can’t wait for all that this year holds!
