Anna Hammons

Anna Hammons

President

Anna Hammons is Manager of Academic Engagement and Achievement at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. At LSU, Anna provides high quality academic coaching and outreach to all veterinary students. Prior to working at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Anna was Assistant Director of Academic Engagement and Achievement at the LSU Center for Academic Success. She was reponsible for academic coaching, outreach, and programming. At the CAS, Anna developed successful programs to expand access to new populations of LSU students, including a widely-used new Moodle course, CAS Learning Journey. She obtained her B.A. in English, M.A. in Teaching, and Ed.S. certification from LSU.
Shannon Williamson

Shannon Williamson

Dr. Shannon Williamson serves as the Director of the Learning Resource Center at the University of New Orleans. In this role, she coordinates academic coaching, tutoring, and supplemental instruction. Additionally, Shannon leads the Privateer Pathways program, UNO's Math and English co-requisite remediation program for first-year students. Shannon has a special interest in how emotional intelligence of students and learning assistance professionals can support student success in college, career, and beyond. She enjoys supporting students in their journey to become thriving, independent, lifelong learners.
Daphne Williams

Daphne Williams

Vice President

Dr. Daphne Williams is an Associate Professor in the Department of Developmental and Higher Education Studies at Grambling State University. She teaches courses in the Doctor of Education in Developmental Education and Master of Science in Developmental Education degree programs. Her research interests are in the areas of developmental education, developmental education policy, study skills development, online learning assistance, and learning assistance centers in higher education.
Lisa Volentine

Lisa Volentine

Treasurer

Lisa Gullett Volentine has been working at the Center for Academic Success at LSU for over 20 years as the Business Manager. Her degree is in elementary education from Southeastern Louisiana University. She taught in the public school system before homeschooling her children for eight years.
James Boffenmyer

James Boffenmyer

Immediate Past President

James Boffenmyer currently serves as the Associate Director of the Learning Center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His main duties include leading the Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and Academic Coaching programs for the university. In addition to his duties, he also teaches Mathematics & Physics for many at-risk student populations so he is fully immersed in the holistic approach to helping students achieve their academic goals.
Elizabeth M. Wallace

Elizabeth M. Wallace

Marketing and Communications

Dr. Beth Wallace is Assistant Director of Data Analytics and Systems Operations for Enrollment Management and Student Success at Louisiana State University. She holds degrees in biochemistry, music performance, and music education from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, and she completed her Ph.D. in Music Education at LSU in Spring 2020. Beth bring experiences from both secondary and postsecondary education as a teacher, tutor, academic coach, interventionist, manager, and data analyst.
